2nd Annual Walk For Paws

It was a gorgeous day for the 2nd Annual Walk for PAWS event that was held at the Melvin Miller Park on Saturday Aug. 28th.  The event was organized by Chelsea Hartleman a volunteer at PAWS as well as a Urbana University student and Nila Randall Manager of PAWS, Champaign Co. Humane Society.  There was a sea of blue jerseys from the many football and volleyball players on hand from Urbana University to offer their help with all the dogs that came out to the event.  They took them on walks and kept them active for all the pet owners.   There was plenty to do and lots of entertainment.  Cornhole seemed to be the football player’s favorite. “DJ Chill” Christopher S. Chilton was on hand to mix it up and entertain all the sponsors and everyone enjoyed line dancing and listening to his music.  Also there to bless our ears with their uplifting music was The Real World Band.  Cassie Watts, age 10 said of the band, “I really like that band, and they’re fun.”
