Dayton, OH – Kelsey Woodward, Senior at Northmont High School, believes Ms. Janelle Hayes is one special teacher. Like students in schools all over the Miami Valley, Kelsey knows her teacher has made a real difference in her life and thinks it’s about time great teachers like Ms. Hayes got some much deserved recognition. Kelsey wants to do something about that and has nominated her Spanish teacher for the Heroic Teacher of the Year award.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Competitive Balance Committee met at the OHSAA office Tuesday, January 31, and came to the consensus that they will continue to study the competitive balance issue, Commissioner Daniel B. Ross, Ph.D., said. The issue came to the OHSAA’s attention a few years ago when a group of member school administrators expressed concern over the high number of state championships being won by non-public schools, even though non-public schools make up only 17 percent of the Association’s membership. The Competitive Balance Committee first met in January 2010.

Students donned their favorite sports team gear instead of the traditional lab attire in celebration of Super Bowl Sunday, and Academic Director, Joel Staudter and Masonry instructor, Terry Hedges, were duct taped to a wall.

DAYTON, Ohio (2/3/2012) – Sinclair Community College will host their Second Annual Four-Year Transfer Fair on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Loggia area of the library located in building seven. The event is for all Sinclair students to explore potential four-year institutions and programs that fit best with their educational goals. Representatives from over 50 institutions will attend, including regionally-located and out-of-state universities.
