This is the second year for Walmart Stores across the nation to honor schools in their area – and this year, store associates at the E. National Road location in Springfield nominated South Vienna Elementary as their recipient of the Teacher Rewards Program!
Store Manager David Jones and several staff members from the store brought ten (10) $100 gift certificates that were given to teachers whose names were randomly drawn from a jar. (Pictured right, are several of our winning teachers!) Walmart also brought a wonderful celebration cake that was shared with all the teachers!
Walmart’s goal is to help teachers offset the high cost of classroom supplies. It is estimated that a teacher spends approximately $500 per year out of their own pocket for classroom supplies.
The Walmart program provides $4.5 million nationally to 45,000 teachers across the United States.
Northeastern Local Schools would like to thank Walmart Stores for being our Partner in Education!
Congratulations South Vienna Elementary!
