URBANA, OHIO……….Planning is well underway for the 8th Annual Art Affair on the Square, July 21, in downtown Urbana and applications are already being received according to event chairperson Sara Kerns..
Five days packed with entertaining activities and sales – March 6-10 – have been planned by Monument Square District to help local residents and visitors chase the winter blues and celebrate historic downtown Urbana’s diverse selection of retail businesses and restaurants.
URBANA, Ohio (February 15, 2012) - A new exhibit, CHARLOTTE GORDON: VESSELS, will be on view at the Miller Center for Visual Arts on the campus of Urbana University, from March 23 - May 5, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1-4 p.m. The Opening Reception with the artist is on day, March 23, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for either the Opening Reception or the exhibit, but donations to the Miller Center for Visual Arts are welcome.

Northeast Ohio's Labor Day Weekend tradition includes three days of aerial thrills featuring U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Sky Soldiers helicopter team, Shockwave Jet Truck, Sean D. Tucker Power Aerobatics, wing-walking, military jet demonstrations and parachuting. Plus excitement on the ground with interactive displays, kid friendly activities, planes and more.
Springfield, Ohio — A centuries-old tradition in Japanese culture, the Taiko or “fat drum” has been played during religious ceremonies, in warfare and, more recently, for performance-only sake. From Feb. 1-Feb. 3, students and the Springfield community will have a chance to experience this art form firsthand, thanks to the efforts of Janice Glowski, assistant professor of art and 1987 Wittenberg alumna.
The award-winning documentary movie, WINDFALL, about residents of Meredith, NY living in the shadows of Industrial Wind Turbines will be shown at Mechanicsburg Christian Fellowship, 4401 Allison Rd. Mechanicsburg, OH at 7 PM on Thurs., Feb. 2 and again at the Champaign County Community Center, 1512 S. US Hwy. 68, Urbana at 7 PM on Sat., Feb. 4.
