COLUMBUS—State Senator Chris Widener (R- Springfield) released the following state in response to President Obama’s State of the Union address this evening to Congress.
“If the President is eager for good ideas on how to create an environment for job and economic growth, he need only look to Ohio,” Widener said. “While we still have a lot of work to do, Ohio is now the top spot in the Midwest and ranked 9th nationally in job growth since January 2011.
“Over the last year we have overcome extraordinary challenges to bring fiscal stability to the state and create a strong environment for job and economic growth,” said Widener. “Our nation faces similar challenges and we need strong and decisive leadership in order to restore prosperity and economic opportunity to our state and our nation.”
