URBANA, Ohio (January 20th, 2012) - On Friday night in the Urbana University Aquatics Center, The Blue Knight Men's and Women's swim teams swept visiting Malone University. Urbana's men coasted past the Pioneers 103-91, and the women slipped past Malone 90-27. The wins came in the final home meet of the year and final home meet of the career's of Blue Knight seniors Brian Hurley, Paul Miller, and Sarah St. Clair.
 
The men's team won 8 out of 11 events for the Blue Knights. Matt Stover, Brian Hurley, Kim Helander, and Paul Miller started the night off with a bang, posting a 1:40.63 in the 200 medley relay win. The relay team of Kim Helander, Alexander Espinoza, Alexander Parks, and Paul Miller closed senior night with a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay by the time of 1:29.47.
 
The Blue Knights captured 5 individual event wins, led by Espinoza with wins in (200 free, 100 back) followed by Miller (50 free), Stover (200 IM), and Helander (100 fly).
 
On the women's side, the Blue Knights posted 8 wins and set 1 new school record. The 200 medley relay team of Bethany McNutt, Samantha Cowgill, Rachel Kelly, and Heather Abdalla recorded a time of 2:11.85 for the victory. The 200 yard free relay team of Bethany McNutt, Heather Abdalla, Sarah St. Clair, and Shelby Snell ended the night with a win in the time of 2:06.03. Breanne Schroeder set the tone for the individual events women's team by breaking the 1000 yard freestyle record by the time of 12:02.29 and winning two other events (200 IM,100 free). Other individual winners included Rachel Kelly in the 50 yard freestyle, Bethany McNutt in the 100 yard freestyle and Sarah St. Clair in the 500 yard freestyle.
 
With the wins the Blue Knight men improved to 8-5 on the year. The women tied the school record for wins by notching their 6th win of the season. Both programs finished the year 3-1 at home. Next Friday night, Urbana travels to Hiram College for a 6 P.M. dual meet.
