Former Raider baseball player Alex Kaminsky was first signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cleveland Indians, then he was named to the New York-Penn League All-Star team and now he has been honored as the Indians Minor League Player of the Week.
In 12 starts for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, the 22-year old right handed pitcher boasts a record of 5-4 with a 2.79 earned run average. A Fostoria native, Kaminsky has yielded just 48 hits in 58.0 innings while striking out 47 batters. During his Player of the Week honor, he threw 10 innings over two games with a 0.90 ERA and struck out nine.
Kaminsky recently ended his collegiate career for the Raiders as he was named Second Team All-Horizon League this past spring.
